He is trying to keep Shas from quiting his coalition so he offers them a bribe in the form of reviving the Religious Affairs Ministry.
Olmert is getting worried so he is offering rewards to religious parties and will offer somethnig to Yisroael Baitanu to keep them on board.
For now Barak will be happy with senior cabinet positions for labour members because he knows that if ellections were held tommorow then Likud are most likley to be the winners and Barak doesnt need little rewards because he has just as much to loose as Olmert the little parties all sides will be willing to bring into the coaltion because they dont have the same power as the big boys so you keep them happy with a little reward here and there and you have extra support.
Both Labour and Kadima are desperate to avoid ellections they know Kadima will be lucky to get 2-3 seats while Labour would loose plenty and Likud and other right wing parties would be the big winners.
We need a new political system. |
