This is why Assad neeeds to keep his close relations with Iran the arab world doesnt back him the way they did his father and Assad knows that if he doesnt have some friends to keep him propped then his regime will fall. Thats allso why he wants the Golan so badly he needs to deliver a prize to the arab world to be seen as a strong leader worthy of the name Assad ( his father was one of the most respected arab leaders by other arab states ) right now little Bashar is a boy trying to be a man and not very well so he needs to do something to earn respect. The Golan also cannot come at the expense of real peace with Israel because then many arabs will see him as a traitor who puts peace with the zionists above support for the brave martyrs who died fighting the zionist entity. Assad hasnt got any arab leaders on his side and so he gets throws a tantrum and condems them for not taking his side.
