| The problem is not only the current Brain Drain which is already very bad, but in addition, if we take into account the recent change of trend in the immigration from the Soviet block countries, the level of education in Israel is NOT good enough. Because the Russian immigrants and their children who had attended some high school in Russia already had a very good foundation, their high performance in Israeli high schools and Israeli universities, ARTIFICIALLY gave the wrong impression that the Israeli education at the university and college preparatory level is very good. Right now there is actually a severe reduction in the quantity and quality of scientific talent because our own education is NOT compensating for the reduced arrival of Russian talent. The latter situation, is actually a threat to the survival of Israel, and must be addressed VERY quickly. |
