From avi: [In November, an IAEA report said Iran had been generally truthful about key aspects of its nuclear history, but warned that its knowledge of Tehran`s present atomic work was SHRINKING.]
This doesn`t exactly support Khamenei`s willingness to comply with the IAEA!
Don`t be silly. Of course it does. As I penned earlier, the IAEA had full inspection rights under the Additional Protocol. When the IAEA Board moved the Iran dossier to the UNSC, Iran stopped allowing AP inspections. Thus, the IAEA`s knowledge was "shrinking". This lesser level of inspections is all that is required of Iran under the NPT. The very simple means for the IAEA to begin "expanding" its knowledge of the Iran program is to rstore the dossier to the IAEA from the UNSC. Its really simple, and a straight-forward means to progress. Given that Iran is now answering ALL of the IAEA`s questions about its clandestine nuclear program, why would it not be proper to have the IAEA in charge once again? |
