| The debate among Jews is on the size of Israeli territorial concessions. There is no debate on the existence of Israel (other than a negligible ultra-orthodox fringe group)So the hands of Olmert or any future Israeli leader will be tied unless the Arabs accept a Jewish-majority Israel. Abbas,Fayad and Erekat (the non-Hamas Palestinians) have all said they will not. Even if they agreed, it would be meaningless if they could not control Hamas and other rejectionists. There are many naive people believing it`s just a matter of Israel leaving the West Bank. |
