In a just world, brave journalists like you and Amira Hass would have journalists from all over the world begging the two of you for insight in what it means to be truly courageous and brave journalists. For all the misery the West Bank and Gaza have suffered since the Nakba in 1948, it was people like the two of you who continued to work in the belief that one could celebrate the miracle of the rebirth of Israel in 1948 while recognizing the immense suffering and humiliation Israel`s creation caused for the Palestinian people. To honor two people like you and Amira for simply being good neighbors seems preposterous in a 21st century world. But the fact that you do it every day, article after article, in spite of overwhelming odds, is a story that matches the most heroic achievements outlined in the holy books of Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Needless to say, congratulations once again. You are both truly indispensable. |
