| In my opinion, the biggest mistake that Ariel Sharon made was to place his trust in what President George W. Bush wrote in the letter during 2005, about Israel being permitted to annex the large settlement blocs of Gush Etzion and Maale Adumim. During his trip to Israel, I did not hear or read about any mention of these settlement blocs. Americans know that what a President may say or do is not binding upon future Administrations unless they are made in treaty form and ratified by the United States Senate. In just about one year, President George W. Bush will be gone. |
