and ignores what they don`t like. The Palestinians point out Bush`s call for an end to the occupation of the West Bank, the creation of a viable, contiguous Palestinian state by the end of the year (minus the Gaza Strip of course), the dismantlement of illegal outposts, and the freezing of Israeli settlement construction.
Israel likes Bush`s call for "adjustments" to the 1949 armistice line (which means that Israel can retain the seamline area), a solution to the refugee problem which will enable them to swamp the futuristic State of Palestine with a few hundred Euros in their pockets but without ever being allowed into Israel, and a confrontation and disarming of terrorist organizations by the PA.
Bush threw up his hands on the status of Jerusalem and doesn`t seem to know what to say about Hamas` secession of the Gaza Strip from the PA. |
