| If every trace of Muslim and Christian occupation disappear over the years, then Israelis will not cry. In fact, since the time of Jesus, the area has been predominantly under either Christian or Muslim rule, to say nothing of the pagan Romans. This means that there is far more evidence of of non-Jewish culture to be found than there is Jewish. This evidence could someday prove inconvenient to Israel, who is taking low key steps to make it gradually disappear. |
