There are other forms of defense than collective punishment and withholding of food and medicine. Just as Palestinians, as you say, are responsible for the war crimes of their people, so to are Israelis responsible for their war crimes. There are many on both sides.
Yet, there is a difference. Palestinians have no collective say in the actions of IJ who have been shooting the Qassams and Hamas either. Most Palestinians cannot even reach the areas where the rockets are launched to even attempt to stop this. And, if they did, they would more than likely be shot. But, Israelis have collective say in their governments actions. The condone withholding medicine from sick people. Even though, they know the black market is run by the groups shooting the rockets, and such action only necessitate them in Palestinian society. They have decided to support such tragedies as collective punishment. |
