convince during this visit the Palestinian Arab leadership to come out with a unified statement together with Israel, in Arabic, English and Hebrew, stating simply that:

Israel has the right to exist, as will the future Palestinian Arab state once it is constructed, and Israel is the nation-state of the Jewish people, as will the future Palestinian Arab state be the nation-state of the Palestinian Arab people.

So far the Arab leadership in general and the leadership of the Palestinian Arabs have rejected Israel`s right to exist - they only accept the fact that it does - and have even negated the very existence of our Jewish people, still, after nearly 4,000 years of peoplehood they are not convinced that we are a people.

This is not a basis of course for an accomodation of peaceful co-existence between Arab and Jew, between Israel and its Arab neighbors.

Will Bush`s visit change this reality???
