Scott, maybe you have a hard time understanding that foreign aid doesn`t go to individuals here in Israel, but rather to the government. Also, the vast majority of it must be spent in the US. Most of it was given to us in exchange for not blowing the hell out of Saddam Hussein in the early 90`s - which in hindsight might have saved you Americans a lot of trouble. So, consider it you paying a debt.
That being said, I would love to stop taking the pennies from you - but only if you can promise me your government will shut up and stop telling us what to do in exchange for it. I`m tired of Nanny America thinking they have any authority here in the mideast, where it`s more than clear they don`t know how to operate. |
