..no one is out to get them. Having said that, I do agree with your assessment about the underlying psychology of this conflict:

So,what`s the solution? IMHO,the solution should involve a willingness by BOTH sides to expect to give, not just take.
Israel should be willing to give on the settlements while the Palestinians should renounce their old rhetoric about eradicating Israel and their RoR demand.Peace will not break out if ONLY Israel will be expected to give.
Failing that,if one side or the other won`t comply,then I`m afraid that peace is not in the air right now and I think that it would be a mistake to force it |
