| Has anyone noticed the switch from hamas denying involvement in the Schalit kidnapping to dictating the terms of his release. Since Hamas has abandoned it`s initial charade of denying responsibility why does Israel continue the charade. A continued assault on Gaza as long as Schalit was held was the correct response. Sooner or later Schalit would be released or Gaza would have been rubble; both acceptable outcomes. Israel must show the world that the policy of zero tolerance replaces the failed policy of "proportionate limited, and restrained, response". It cannot be the outside world decides Israel`s response. Under the Bush failed doctrines of incompetence, or hidden agendas, Israel has now similarly lost all credibility. Now it is Israel that never misses an opportunity to miss an opportunity. |
