#3 - Answer to your queston. It seems that you dont understand, that many ultra-orthordox Jews are not as backward and ancient as they look. And although they may not socialize and mix with the gentiles etc, they are involved in every industry - including investment banking (some of them are are high level executives in the largest investment banks in NYC), Derivatives trading, jewellry business, import-export and above all Real Estate (where it is said that orthordox Jews own more buildings than any other group). Indeed, the ultra-orthordox are one of the richest and most prominent groups in NY. I dont think they suffer from their religion and their looks and ckothes: just the opposite, in that they are respected for being upright people and their word is their honor and like a written contract (as per the Talmud).
The Ultra-Orthordox support their institutions of learning and their fellow men on a scale not seen for many centuries.
