| Egypt must find the middle position regarding Gaza security. On one hand, Egypt has no love for Israel or America, but gets a couple billion each year from America. This money is hostage to Egypts "good behaviour". On the other hand, the Arab world knows that Israel is trying to choke Gaza, cutting back on every item and power as well. Anything needed by Hamas and others in Gaza must come through Egypt. Egypt certainly has more will to please the Arabs than to please Israel, so Israels "control" of the Gaza border will be the minimum required to keep the dollars flowing. Egypt has also learned a few tricks from Israel, who also practices deception in order to keep American dollars flowing. |
