The point of the PA arresting these people is two-fold. First they are a threat to the current PA government and its policies. Second and maybe more importantly, the current PA government wants o achieve independence from Israel. They want the IDF out of Palestinian territory and they want to keep them out. To achieve this goal they are doing what they have to do.
Governments have interests. It is in the PA government`s interest to do what they perceive as is needed to achieve and maintain that independence. |
