| If we observe a hamster, in his cage, and running in his wheel, we see that he is expending lots of energy but is not going anywhere. This is the purpose of the hamster wheel. It gives the hamster the illusion of "freedom of movement" within his cage while he remains firmly under the control of his owner. In a similar fashion, Israel is "allowing" the PA the illusion of freedom as well. This is a move called for by America and other influential nations. Like all of Israels other "concessions", it is also an illusion. The PA has no real role in west bank security, except as low level errand boys. All decisions are made in Israel and relayed to the PA if they have a role to play. The real motive behind this activity is to keep Palestinian factions at war with one another. Israel will exploit this issue as long as it can be exploited. |
