It just spoke about two states with some sort of political mechanism to regulate common problems.Do you really prefer chaos and perpetual war, with absolutely no garantee we`ll win all of them? The patriotism of the founding generation was translated in sacrifice and willing to die from the country.The patriotism of to day is translated in irredentism, demagogy, and self congratulation.
