Some sort of regional commonwealth including Israel, the Palestinian state, Jordan and Lebanon would be a very good idea, even one with only Israel and Palestine, but this cannot come before or as a substitute for Palestinian independence. For an Israeli-Palestinian form of confederacy modeled on the European Union there must be a Palestine before (and a viable one, not disconnected cantons).
It is amazing how so many utopians have been all the time queuing to solve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. |
