After sixty years of war and strife Israel is financially stable and gradually improving the systems and order of its bureaucratic functions. We have made peace with those of our neighbours who wish for peace. Our political parties provide us with all the tension and conflict we need to keep us on our toes. We are still at war with the recalcitrant Palestinians whose charters call for our destruction.

Why should we take the chaotic Palestinians who have not even constructed an infrastructure to the state they have been talking of since `67 into our still imperfect but striving household to make a balagan again? As an Israeli I object to the very thought of wasting sixty years of hope and work and dedication on the thesis of a political scientist who wants to make a name for himself.

I could suggest instead peter of Montreal`s province plan where the borders of Israel are temporarily extended to help them make order out of their chaos, which strikes me as much more acceptable and less destructive.
