I`m sure the U.S. will eagerly comply with your requests, considering that our political leaders are rabid, brain-addled curs who currently see Muslim-baiting as the best way to court voters. Incidentally, I don`t see this process going anywhere as it stands now, apart from towards more grief, of course. I have a suggestion, though, to assist the peace process. The U.S., which has exhibited an undying committment to Israel`s security for many decades at great expense, should use some of the funds allocated for Israeli aid to purchase contiguous plots of land with adequate resources in the U.S. to cede to Palestinian refugees as a sovereign state. All those evicted due to Israel`s founding could be relocated here. Or, considering that so many people consider Israel`s status as a Jewish state necessary so that Jews can have a safe refuge somewhere in the world from persecution, we could offer such a territory to Israelis willing to give up claims to a Mideast homeland in exchange for a homeland where they`ll actually be safe. Either works. Heck, let`s do both. We`ve got enough land here, and in the long run it`s cheaper and less painful than continuing to fund and involve ourselves in this conflict. |
