Fast track doesn`t necessarily mean a `quickie` conversion, with no substance. It means that more rabbis will be working on the `project.` And just for the record, I`ve known Reform converts who have undergone a much more rigorous education process than some Orthodox converts - and Reform Bar/Bat Mitzvahs who have led the entire service, and read all of the Torah and Haftorah portions of the day - not just a `paragraph and a prayer.`
New Jews should be given as much information as possible and the building blocks and encouragement to search for more knowledge after conversion. And Orthodoxy should not be the only game in town. |
