| Israel is like a "tar baby" to American politicians. It is better to provide support from afar, lest you become hopelessly entangled. American politicians don`t want to take a stand on issues such as Israeli settler expansiom, movement restrictions placed upon Palestinians in their own areas, and sowing cluster bombs over civilian areas. Everybody other than devout Israel supporters understand these things to be wrong with no debate of explaination neeeded. Even Israels strongest supporters among American politicians, incluuding Jews don`t want to answer any specific questions about Israels methods of fighting or maintaining control of the territories. |
