Improvement in Palestinian living conditions and economic prosperity will go a long way to giving Palestinians hope for the future, and show them that turning towards negotiations and away from violence can bear fruit for all.

However, talk of economic revival in the Palestinian terrorities is premature unless Israel is willing to start taking down roadblocks, and easing restrictions on Palestinian movement, so that workers can get to work, goods can move around, etc. I believe it was the World Bank, IMF or another body that said without lifting restrictions, even if the world gives all the money it`s pledged in Paris, the Palestinian economy will SHRINK over the coming years, meaning continued deteriation in the economy and living conditions.

I`m aware of Israeli security concerns, but I`m sure lifting roadblocks and restrictions can be done in a careful, measured way which can balance both of these objectives?
