| All hands on deck cries Olmert. We need to make Nablus look like a failure or we will be pressed to end settlement expansions. Not even George W Bush will fall for that one, or will he? One thing for sure though is that the US sees and hears what is going on, but as to how they will react is still anybodies guess. "A western backed plan" is however about to be put in ruins by Olmert and trust is what the Fatah PA has put in the western countries. If they do not act and act now how can that trust be maintained. Olmert is testing the limits and he is boarder lining his luck. Bush do not want to spend his time in Arab countries having to defend why he is allowing the Israelis to not even make an effort. The Arabs want deeds and no words is going to supplement that demand. A HALT to ALL settlement constructions, that is the demand. Bush hinted, in no uncertain terms, that he is prone to agree. The US will not come out looking strong by looking weak towards Israel in the Gulf States. |
