| During the course of the recent war against Hizbollah, Israeli forces bombed various undefended civilian targets across the entire length and breadth of Lebanon. This included power plants, gas stations, television and radio antennas, banks, roads, bridges, apartment blocks in Beruit, and the Beruit airport. Israel reacted as if there had been a full scale attack from Lebanon, which was not the case. Israel killed far more civilians than they did Hizbollah fighters. This is no surprise when the civilians are targetted. On the other hand, the IDF was absolutely stonkered by the defense put up by Hizbollah. As the IDF casualties mounted, they pulled back and were content to unleash their entire inventory of cluster bombs on south Lebanon in frustration. Whatever they are, it is far, far from being a professional army. |
