You are correct. Israel is in fact discriminatory in its nature of being a "Jewish" state. Yet, in 1945, after 6 million Jews were exterminated, it sounded like a smart idea - "a homeland for the Jewish people who literally face extincion." That is, Jews represent less than 1% of the human population - and considering our human history, Jews do need a "safety" net to survive. Thus, the feeling that you are discriminated against in Israel is a sacrifice for the survival of the Jewish people.
It is important to note that Israel is still a democratic country that respects all its citizens, Jew and non-Jew. You probably do better in Israel than in your homeland, and people in Israel do appreciate your help to Israel`s society - which definitely benefits from the presence of migrants workers living here - including yourself! |
