| Sure, many Muslim countries harbored Jews expelled from Spain. Turkey is a notable example. But others did not. And even in those that did, Jews were subjected to second-class status, payment of a discriminatory poll tax, and the subject of constant humiliation. In some Muslim countries, such as Yemen, Jews were forbidden from walking on the sidewalk when a Muslim passed. In most, their evidence in court against a Muslim was considered half that of the Muslim. In Iran, there were laws forbidding Jews from walking in the snow, lest they contaminate the water supply. And, well before Zionism "raised its ugly head", the Jews of Mashad were forcibly converted to Islam on penalty of death. Your myths are nice, but they are just that - myths. |
