| I`m very left-wing as regards Israel, but I have to remark that your comment was pretty cold, heartless, and makes those of us who are appropriately critical of Israel (and the US as well) look like a bunch of mean spirited people. No one who develops esophageal carcinoma deserves to be referred to in this fashion, regardless of their politics or actions. Lantos has done some very very outstanding things in his position and is a real mensch. Stop with the kneejerk negativity already. As someone who is Jewish and who is indeed critical of Israel, I`m offended when someone like you comes along and just bashes in a one-sided fashion, whether anti-Israel or “rah-rah Israel.” Can you ever say anything positive about anyone who isn`t vehemently against Israel? I suspect not. Again, I`m very open to logical criticisms of any country or person, but in this setting, it`s pretty bad taste and offensive. Perhaps even tinged with some anti-semitism? |
