while admittedly on the left I would use the following four criteria for "good for Israel":
1. understands those "vital interests" any Israeli government must protect
2. has an informed personnel committment to a "normal Israel" that is integrating Israel as a full and respected partner in the sisterhood of nations and among nations of the middle east
3. Has persons on his/her foreign policy team who have deep non-ideological connections to Israel and understand the nuances of Israeli politics and are capable of dealing respectfully with an Israeli government of either the right or left
4. Does NOT have a Jewish "rabbi" who defines the candidates Israel position based on a personal Jewish ideological perspective |
