| Israel strictly limits the import of medical supplies into Gaza and also the movement in and out of Gaza of individuals seeking to study anything not least of which are medical students.Israel forbids flat out the importation of any chemo therapy or radio therapy drugs and devices; thereby, completely denying the posibility of medical care for cancer victims in the GAZA Strip. In fact the rate of death of women with breast cancer is comparable to places where there simply is no medical care at all. This procedure is abhorent. The Palestinians with cancer in GAZA cannot leave for medical care and they cannot get any where they are. They simply wait to die. Israel denies access to all chemotherapy and radiotherapy for almost all GAZANS. Period. It is understandable that Israel does not want the Palestinians creating a dirty bomb but in that case medical transit should not be denied. Even criminals get chemotherapy/radiotherapy as needed everywhere else in the world. |
