| The real issue is that Evangelicals speak up when Israeli government policies weaken Israel, whereas Federation policy supports Israeli government no matter what. Cases in point: Divide Jerusalem; expell Jews from Judea (and Samaria and the Golan); take gas masks from Israeli citizens; use only $8 million out of $340 million Jews donated to improve bomb shelters to actually improve bomb shelters - all supported by Federations and the United Jewish Communities. Evangelicalls take the reverse position, and in Chicago, combined with Jews, raised more than $40 million that was actually used to improve bomb shelters - having to bypass the Israeli Government, which bickered and postured about who would take credit for the money. Evangelicals recognize the Biblical right to the land whereas Federations go along with giving up the land. Federations were actually AGAINST Jewish settlement in the "territories," even when the Israeli Government was FOR the settlements. |
