I was aware of the limitations.
However, one per 10 meters is great if the smugging was only on the surface. But everything I`ve read says that it is underground, which makes it harder to detect. That makes every building within 500 meters of the border a potential tunnel entrance. And if Egypt needs warrants to search, 250 people isn`t enough.
Last we heard about what`s being smuggled, it`s medicines and tobacco and viagra. But if the estimates of some were believed, Israeli aircraft wouldn`t have the freedom to operate in Gaza`s skies. It is hard to know what to believe.
Maybe it is best left to Barak and the Egyptians to work out.
Is it better to interdict weapons or medicines? I`d prefer to see weapons interdicted. |
