| Concealing incriminating tapes on Egypt`s collusion with Hamas terrorists on the eve of a US Congressional vote to cut military aid to Egypt has to be the single most idiotic act of an Israeli FM in the last 50 years!! Is she really too stupid to understand what she did??? Egypt gets billions in US arms aid for America`s benefit, not Israel`s. In our system, Congress makes foreign policy JOINTLY with the President, through its control of the purse. The tapes show that a US ally, Egypt, has been double-crossing us, is working to defeat US policy, and that its PM, Mubarak, is a liar the US shouldn`t trust. She orders the evidence hidden to avoid embarrassing Mubarak - well, was he grateful, Tsipi? NOT! Not what America expects from Israel. Congress, with those tapes, would have cut ALL unreliable Egypts aid, and refused Bush`s demand for a waiver authority (which w/o the tapes, it gave him). Is she too damn dumb to realize that Congress, NOT BUSH, is Israel`s actual friend. I guess so. |
