| The simple reason that more Ortho Americans make aliyah is twofold a) economically it saves them tution fees for schools and camps and b) they get to hide in ortho ghettos here and not have to deal with the real world. Secular Jews concieved of & built this country. They continue to make it a viable place for all to live--even orthos who resist most attempts at creating a fair, just and democratic state. All Jews should value the contribution of secular Zionism & work to create a pluralistic nation and not another unecessary theocracy in the middle east! |
