I believe that we are being unfair to the adherents of the religion known as Reform Judaismn.
Their religion should be registered in Israel and recognized. They should enjoy the status of a distinct and separate religion with their own marriage and divorce system and their own marriage and divorce courts.
This is a Liberal country and any Israeli who wishes to have the "nationality" box on his identity card changed from Jew to "Reform Jew" should be entitled to do so.
No other laws - including the law of Return - need be affected. |
