| Six years ago, I left my wealthy, comfortable life in New York and came to Israel. I learned Hebrew, served in an IDF combat unit, and now I`m a student - my life is being destroyed by university strikes and I have no control over my destiny or my dreams; I can`t study abroad in the summers, can`t plan internships and I can`t count on vacation time to work. I feel utterly betrayed by the impotent student leadership and disgusting government-that humiliates teachers, fails at peace and war and leaves our brave soldiers in the field.I am no longer willing to serve in the reserves and risk dying for this country.I will no longer consider raising a family here and when I leave, I will renounce my citizenship. The quality of life here is terrible, and it honestly it is better to be a Jew in the diaspora. This country is a nightmare. |
