I know that Catholic organizations in Chicago used to refer people in trouble there to JEWISH organizations because the Catholic ones could not/would not help the people, even sometimes if the person was Catholic.
The difference between Jewish organizations and Catholic/Christian organizations? Jewish organizations are committed to helping all people, not just their co-religionists, and help is not contingent upon a person converting to Judaism. You can`t say that about you Christians, can you?
In Chicago, the organizations that assisted the most in integrating non-Jewish refugees from Bosnia and Kosovo into US society (including Muslims) WERE THE JEWISH organizations. You Catholics have A LOT farther to go before you can match us. |
