The difference is not 19 years, but the status of residents of Galilee on one side and of Judea and Samaria on the other side. While the former are full citizens of Israel, enjoying equal rights, the latter are people without citizenship and without rights. So, when we the author talks about Greater Israel, it`s fine, all this land belongs to the Jewish people and to the State of Israel by right, but the question is whether we are ready to grant citizenship rights to those, who live on these territories. And, of course, the situation, in which half or more of residents of the State of Israel would have no citizenship, cannot exist. Israel is Jewish and democratic state, these two elements are equally important and the idea of Greater Israel, if implemented, would abolish both these principles. It means, Greater Israel means end of Israel. |
