| It`s interesting that when describing the "spurious distinctions" in dealing with the "two kinds of Jews and two kinds of Arabs", the author neglects to point out a critical division - there are in fact three types. Israeli Jews, who are citizens of Israel with all the rights that implies; Israeli Arabs, who, formally, are also citizens of Israel with all the rights, and Palestinians, who are denied equal rights by law. This is the real distinction, not how many years the "Occupied territories" were occupied. But for some reason I don`t believe the author intends for Israel to give this third group citizenship or equal rights. |
