Most of the victims of sex trafficing are also from the former USSR. Since 1992 when the problem was first made public, Israel was judged by both the US and Un as one of the worlds chief sex trafficing destinations, numbering thousands of women smuggled into the country. Since perhaps 2004, according to Israeli NGOs, the situation has improved somewhat but is now morphing into higher end sex slavery, through apartment rentals used for the trafficing or escort services. The problem still exists in a major way and Israel continues to remain a major destinaation for a very lucrative business.
