Title:Does Israel really need "great statemen" as leaders

As always, the strange and byzantine world of israeli politics does an ugly job of chosing a leader, but it seems to me that it could have done a lot worse than someone like Olmert. What sort of "peace solution" would a "great stateman" have pushed for??? The only peace acceptable to israel`s enemies would be the peace of the grave for israel, so wouldn`t "peace" be simply a matter of trading Nobel peace prize for loss of israeli national security? On the other hand, what sort of military solution would a "great warrior" have accomplished?? The deaths of tens of thousands and an Israel still surrounded by enemies?? To quote that great jewish philosoper Bob Dylan, maybe israel just needs to "keep on keeping on".
