Olmert has learned some whopping lessons since he became PM. Am sure there is much in his resume that he now fervently wishes he had done otherwise. In judging him we could adopt the stance of observant Jews, who are all for atonement and forgiveness... He will be a capable and honorable PM. He is deeply familiar with both the major political camps in Israel, their aspirations and their limitations.
There are no more Yitzchak Rabins who resign from the premiership over a spouse`s negligent neglible bank account. And in any case, the aftermath of that resignation was catastrophic for Israel... |
