Israels very existence WAS depending on UN resolution 181 (the partition) and Israel recognized it. Those who didn`t recognize it caused toh proongation of the conflict till today and probably further in the future. The very existence of Israel depends since that time on it`s ability to defent itself, and this will be so in the future.
The lines of 147 were gone with the war, that the rejectionists initiated against Israel. They are obsolet already for almost 6 decades. The only question that remains is how close to the "green line" the future border between Israel and Palestine will be. There is nothing to negotiate further west of the "green line", if it is not as a part of a possible territorial exchange.
About Hamas`s next move around those lines Hamas can debate with itself (and with you, if you wish). Nobody of importance takes this seriously anyway. |
