There are some schools who are missing out the Holocaust in History GCSE`s.
Although it is a legal requirement to teach the Holocaust for world Holocaust day in January. Where the kids are taught the fundamentals to the Holocaust during Religious Education and Citizenship.
Personally I don`t really care whether children born since 1995 need to know about the Holocaust in the 1940`s when they can be taught about Rwanda and Bosnia ethnic cleansing and genocide within their own lifetimes seems to me to be much more relevant and important.
Afterall surely it is more important that they can see the relevance of genocide within the context of the world they live in today. |
