| Israel could never survive as a "Jewish State" because such an entity would preclude and would exclude any Muslim or Christian presence and any national rights in the same landscape on which Israel was haphazardly founded in 1948. Israel, however, can and should exist only as a secular state for "Israelis" whose national identity is still morphing and is yet "in the making". It must never exclude its Christian and Muslim citizens within a future secular Israeli State. Also, any Palestinian future State must not be governed by a strictly Islamic form of government. HAMAS will have to readjust its political principles so as to conform to secularist political standards. |
