Talkback
Title:Poor judgment at this TV "documentary".

(I helped for a year Ethiopian kids once a week in their school-homework.)

The suffering and misadaptation are presented here as stemming from Israel`s and Israelis` discrimination. It is much more the unavoidable culture shock, the impossibility of bridging so huge gaps by the inmigrants themselves. What about their children born in Israel? Don`t their statistics resemble more the Israeli avarage. You bet!

This "documentary" is biased. It starts with the notion that poor African Jews are brought to Israel only to be trans-cultured from their beautiful white or colourful robes, into black and grey Western uniforms. It highlights implicitly a racial factor in their being "discriminated" against. It ends up with the implicit question as to why they have been brought to Israel in the first place.

None of these feelings is duly checked. Ask Ethiopian Jews, and dare to poll their answers!
