| Here in the US there are a fair number of scholars who publish and lecture on their subjects, chiefly Yiddish linguistics, Yiddish lterature and folklore, and eastern European Jewish history. Regular weekly seminars are held at the YIVO Institute and at New York Univesity. A group meets weekly to study Old Yiddish literature. The situation is not as good in the general sciences largely due to the dominance of English in almost all scientific publication. Charles Nydorf |
