I think you are a bit confused.
Serving in the IDF is the greatest honor for each and every one of us who have the privilege of living in Israel.
We of course sacrifice much in order to protect our woman and children from the forces of evil who target them. However no sacrifice is too get in the service of justice and the protection of our land and people.
We do not, by the way, call them militants. We call them terrorists, as in murderers, as in savages.
